Circles - Neslihan and Ece

 Circles - Neslihan and Ece

This project was created by Ece Bilginer, Neslihan Gazioglu, Krystof Koctar, and Perla in Olomouc, 2025. We were strongly influenced by Ralph Waldo Emerson and his essay “Circles” (1844). In “Circles,” Emerson urges a mindset of a never-ending, continuous flow of life shaped by circles. By this, the circle is a mere geometric figure; it serves as a symbol of the universe’s functioning. No limit is final, and everything is in constant change, creating new horizons. Thus, with this philosophy in mind, we created a palindrome with the sounds that we recorded in the small town of Olomouc. We also recorded our own voices as we said, “Around every circle another can be drawn.” Not just the sounds, but we also included a video that keeps rewinding, recorded in a small pond while it was raining.
