Welcome to the Theory into Practice blog! Here you will find all of the student projects from the seminar Theory into Practice that took place in Olomouc, Czech Republic, in September 2025. The seminar explored an experimental encounter between nature, sound, and different species, inviting participants to move beyond theory and into lived, sensory experience. Each group of students was given a recorder and asked to develop a creative sound project, using listening, movement, and experimentation as core methods. This blog gathers creative sound projects that emerge from that experience. The seminar was enriched by the presence of two guest contributors whose practices deeply shaped our approach. Christopher Shultis joined us as an experimental composer whose work is rooted in conceptual practice, percussion, and musicology.
